Important Safety Guidelines for the Administration of Eye Drops

Following your surgery, it is of the utmost importance that you take all recovery medications prescribed by your physician exactly as directed and at the scheduled times.

The tip of the dropper bottle must not touch the eye; eye drops should be instilled from above.

When administering the eye drops, the lower eyelid should be gently pulled down, and the drops should be instilled into the eyelid without applying pressure to the eye.

Always shake Lotemax drops well before use.

The eyelids should not be wiped; any excess fluid should be gently dabbed away from below (from the cheek).

It is recommended to wait 1 minute between the application of each individual drop.

Important instructions for the use of eye drops and conditions that may arise during the healing process

Following your surgery, it is normal to experience some degree of blurred and unclear vision. For most patients, this improves and stabilizes almost immediately.

On the day following your surgery, it is normal to experience tearing, sensitivity, and a foreign body sensation in your eyes. We highly recommend that you rest and strictly avoid touching your eyes during this day.

It is entirely normal to experience sensitivity to light for 1 to 2 hours following your procedure.

Tear production may also lead to nasal discharge and a runny nose. This is a expected post-operative occurrence.

You may notice red blood spots in the white part of your eye. Please do not be concerned, as these are normal and will resolve on their own within a few weeks.

You may experience dryness in your eyes. This discomfort can be effectively alleviated using artificial tears prescribed by your physician.
